Many families book during pregnancy so we have time to get to know each other and plan ahead. That said, it is never “too late” to reach out. Whether your baby is a few days, a few weeks or a few months old, support can still make a meaningful difference.
-
That’s completely OK - and very common.
You do not need to have everything figured out before reaching out. Many parents simply know they want more support, reassurance or an extra pair of hands. We can work out together what feels most helpful for you and your family.

Choosing a doula is a very personal decision. Beyond training and experience, one of the most important things is how you feel in their presence.
Do you feel comfortable? Listened to? At ease? Can you imagine letting this person into your home during a vulnerable time?
Practicalities matter, but so does connection. Trust your instincts - feeling safe and comfortable with your doula is incredibly important.

A doula doesn’t replace your partner or support network.
Instead, I help support the whole family. This might mean supporting your partner so they feel more confident, creating space for both of you to rest, or simply being another calm, experienced pair of hands during an intense period.
Even families with wonderful support around them often find having dedicated, consistent support incredibly valuable.

Yes, absolutely.
Postnatal support often includes practical help such as preparing something nourishing to eat, making drinks, folding laundry, tidying baby-related items, or holding your baby while you shower, rest or eat. Small practical tasks can make a huge difference in the early weeks.

Yes.
Doulas support all kinds of births and all kinds of families. Whether you are planning a home birth, hospital birth, induction, planned caesarean, or are still figuring out what feels right for you, a doula’s role is to support you without judgement.
My role is never to push a particular type of birth or tell you what your experience should look like. I am there to provide calm, practical and emotional support, helping you feel informed, listened to and supported whatever path your birth takes.

Babies rarely arrive exactly on their due date, so this is something we plan for together.
From 10 days before your birth, I'll be on call, ready to support you whenever labour begins. If your baby decides to arrive earlier than expected, I'll always do everything I can to be there. If, in the unlikely event that I'm unable to attend because labour begins before my on-call period or due to exceptional circumstances, I'll explain exactly what happens in our agreement before you book, so there are no surprises.
If your baby takes a little longer to arrive, that's absolutely fine too. I'll simply remain on call until your baby is born, so you don't need to worry about watching the calendar or feeling under pressure.
One of the things we'll talk about before your birth is that babies have their own ideas about timing! My role is to be a calm, reliable presence whenever your baby decides the time is right.
