Support, shaped around your family
My work centres around caring for families as they navigate the life-changing transition into parenthood.
While my particular focus is postnatal care, I also offer birth support to a small number of families. My approach is always grounded, flexible and responsive to your individual needs.
Below, you'll find more information about each service and what working together might look like.
Birth

Though my main focus is postnatal care, I also offer birth support for a small number of families.
Pregnancy and birth can bring excitement, uncertainty, and lots of decisions along the way. My role is to provide a calm, steady presence as you prepare for birth, helping you feel informed, listened to and confident in your choices. During labour and birth, I remain alongside you and your birth partner, offering continuous emotional and practical care, whatever direction your birth takes.

Postnatal

The early days and weeks with a new baby are often when parents need the most care, yet can feel the most alone.
My postnatal care is centred around looking after you as you adjust to life with your baby. Every family is different, so each visit is shaped around what you need on the day.
Some visits may be more practical and hands-on: making a much-needed cup of tea, preparing something nourishing to eat, folding laundry, signposting you to relevant services, or holding your baby while you shower, rest or simply have a moment to yourself.
Other visits may be quieter, offering space to talk, process your birth experience, ask questions, offload worries, or simply be with someone who listens without judgement.
Sometimes it'll be a combination of the two. Whatever the day looks like, my aim is the same: to help you feel lighter.
I want you to feel mentally rested, to have had a bit of a laugh about something, and to feel less weighed down by the endless list of things that can feel urgent in early parenthood. I want your home to feel a little calmer, your shoulders a little less tense, and for you to feel like you don't need to worry about anything else for a while.
Above all, I want you to feel cared for, held and less alone.
Postnatal care is booked in sessions of at least three hours, allowing enough time to settle in, understand what is needed, and offer meaningful, unhurried care.

Postnatal support and prenatal planning sessions are charged at £40 per hour. Individual postnatal support sessions have a minimum booking of three hours.
If you'd prefer to plan further in advance, I also offer a range of postnatal packages designed to provide ongoing support through the early weeks and months with your baby.
Doula support also makes a thoughtful and practical gift for growing families. If family or friends would like to contribute towards your postnatal support, I'm happy to offer flexible gift options and blocks of time to suit your family's needs.
Antenatal support
If you don’t want to book the full birth package, you can book antenatal sessions with me as a standalone service. I offer one-to-one sessions for parents who would like some dedicated time to prepare for birth, explore their options and think about what matters most to them.
Each session is shaped around you and the questions you want to explore. We might talk through what happens during labour, birth choices and preferences, comfort measures and positions, pain relief options, induction or caesarean birth, or ways your birth partner can feel more confident and involved. There can also be space to think practically about those first hours and days with your baby.
My role isn’t to tell you how you should give birth or to prepare you for one particular kind of birth. It’s to help you explore reliable information, understand your options and rights, and think through what feels important to you, so that you and your birth partner can approach birth feeling more informed, prepared and confident.
If you’re interested in booking an antenatal session, please get in touch and we can talk about what would be most useful for you.
Working with Confidence and Trust
Inviting someone into your home during such a significant chapter of your life requires trust, and I take that responsibility very seriously.
Although doula services are not currently regulated in the UK, I am committed to working to the highest professional standards, with ethics, integrity and safety at the heart of everything I do.
I completed my birth and postnatal doula training with Nurturing Birth, a Doula UK accredited programme. Throughout my training, I was mentored by an experienced doula, and will continue to invest in my professional development through mentoring sessions to help ensure I provide high-quality, well-informed support to the families I work with.
My training didn't end when I qualified; I regularly connect with the Nurturing Birth and wider doula community to learn from others, share best practice, and stay up to date with developments in maternity care. I am also currently undertaking the Association of Breastfeeding Mothers (ABM) Foundation Course to further develop my knowledge of breastfeeding support (due to complete in early January 2027). I believe ongoing learning and reflection are an important part of providing safe, thoughtful and evidence-informed support.
I am DBS checked and first aid trained through St John’s Ambulance. Full, professional insurance will be in place when I am supporting clients.
“Mentoring Jess over the past few months has been incredible. She brings a real warmth that comes naturally, and her smile is contagious!
Jess has genuinely put in the work to make her doula practice a success. She is a dream to mentor, as her growing knowledge alongside her organisational skills are second to none.
If you are looking to hire a doula, you honestly could not be in better hands. Jess will put you at ease from the get-go and feels like a friend within two hours of meeting her.”
